Dealing with stress and anxiety can be a daily fight and this is especially true when we think about our academic and/or professional life. The world, our loved ones, our classes, our employers, even ourselves demand so much from us that it can be hard to cope. Therefore, we need tools to help us take care of ourselves, our health- emotional, physical, and mental, so that we can take on the challenges we face every day.

Most of us don’t pay much if any attention to our breath. We don’t notice it or appreciate it until it fails us, this can happen so easily when we are stressed and anxious. We aren’t aware that we have the best medicine we could ever need right in our own lungs.

Breathwork techniques are something we can learn and use any time we need them. With practice and dedication, they can become part of our self-care practice and help us in times when we feel stress and anxiety coming on.

Brittany Rios

Certified Kundalini Yoga, Meditation & Pranayama teacher

IE University

My name is Brittany Rios and I have been an educator for the past 10 years and am a certified Kundalini yoga, meditation, and pranayama teacher. I taught corporate yoga for a few years, giving workshops on chair yoga, breathwork and guided meditation. I started my own meditation practice over 12 years ago and fell in love with the practice. As a person who also struggled for many years with managing my stress and anxiety, I completely understand how difficult it can be and know how necessary it is to have tools to help you.
