The average person will spend 90,000 hours or ⅓ of their life at work. As a result, the workplace becomes a central and primary source of connection and belonging. That said, when it comes to diversity and inclusion, many organizations have devoted too much time and too many resources to recruiting diverse candidates without considering employee wellbeing, as an important component of inclusion, retention and belonging. If an organization truly wants to promote a culture of belonging, it is critical to bring wellbeing into the conversation. During this session we will discuss why wellbeing matters for diversity, equity and inclusion and Dr. Jessica Tollette will share some best practices for creating more inclusive organizations where employees feel valued and cared for.
