The mission of Asia Initiatives (AI) is to leverage the power of social capital to promote healthcare, education , improve livelihoods, and sustainable development, striving to bring positive change in the quality of life of people in underserved communities—with a particular focus on women and their families.
Asia Initiatives is launching SoCCs Buddies for SoCCs participants in Lucknow, Bhubaneshwar and Yavatmal to talk with people around the world. Participants on both sides will share and learn more about each other's lives and make friends all the way around the world. Plus, the girls will have a great opportunity to show off their growing English language skills. SoCCs Buddies will make use of our new SoCCs App—which is available on both the Google Play Store and iOS Store— and Zoom video conferencing!
There is no shortage of students hoping to receive English lessons and we need your help.
Therefore, we're looking for volunteers to serve as English Instructors over Zoom!
Volunteers of any age 9th grade and above, gender, background, experience level, etc. are all welcome to serve as teachers!!
You're probably wondering, what does volunteering require from you?
—30-60 mins, once or twice a week to teach English in a Virtual Session
—Sessions will typically happen mornings before 10am EST
—And to be available throughout the summer
—Knowledge of Hindi, Marathi, Odiya, or another language spoken in India is not required, exposure to Indian culture/language is encouraged!
And most importantly, have a fun & enthusiastic approach towards learning!
